So he stayed right in the same place that he had been for years. Doing dishes, cleaning, and laundry. Whatever it takes to avoid his fears. Turn off the TV. Hide your head underground. Try not to make a sound. They're sending hound dogs to sniff me out. They're gonna blow my cover tonight, revealing to all my insides. Too much bad news, once again, makes it hard to wanna trust anything. And when you listen to the radio, it makes it hard to wanna get up and go outside. Tides are rising up to the foot of his front door. Mother nature is trying to wake us up from a digital shit storm. She knocked down power lines and flooded out New York City. Sorta made her hard to ignore. My boss almost called off work, but said 'You gotta come in, I hope you don't sink when you swim... But if you do we will find a replacement.' Too much bad news on CNN makes it hard to wanna trust anything. And when you listen to the radio it makes it hard to wanna get up and go outside. I think I might just lie down, keep my feet off the ground.

Wake up a mess, a big depressed man, poorly dressed for the afternoon. Wipe your eyes, and synch your tie, put on a suit that wears you. And go: Here we all are to work. Spend your time toeing the line looking in the rear view and go "bye bye bye soul" with the entity down your throat screaming here you all are to work and maybe for all your labor you'll get a raise from your shitty boss and maybe if your back breaks you'll get another week off and maybe you'll retire and be buried next to someone you love well here we all are to work yeah, to work.

This will be my last interview for a while. 'Cause I'm tired of calling in sick when they know I'm faking it -- it's against me to tell a lie. But I hate this job and I need a new one. So here it is, got my best outfit on. Clean shaven, making it seem like I have enough money, but really it's just a lie. I don't even feel like myself when I'm wearing a tie. If you want it, and you need it. If you made it, you gotta feed it. In office chair, in search of the words I thought he'd like to hear. Hypnotized. Hunger pain in my side, chasing dollar signs. I felt confident at the end. Though I know he knew my suit never fit right. If you want it, and you need it. If you made it, you gotta feed it. Incoming call, job offer and all. I smiled to myself. Then realized I just traded my seat for a different view of the same thing -- happiness isn't where you aren't. So I lift my chin as my stomach sinks and I tell myself it will be alright.

this didn't have to end on an ugly note but those are the only notes I hear anymore but ever since the murmuring of your voice telling me to fuck right off there were lies and then there were mistakes and the ones i told were as big as the ones i made but you never did much of anything but shackle me now I'm alone, always alone and I hear those ugly notes this didn't have to end on an ugly note but those are the only notes I hear anymore but ever since the murmuring of your voice telling me to

Night Windows
Ben Hughes: vocals, guitar
Ryan Buzby: bass
Tad L'ecuyer: drums

With a bachelor’s degree worth of debt and a series of unrelated day jobs to pay it back, Hughes is a poster boy for the bursted-bubble millennial generation. He sings about being part of a downtrodden blue-collar work force, helping loved ones through hard times, and clinging desperately to his musician dreams which ebb to the margins of his days. Night Windows has been compared to Pedro The Lion, The Get Up Kids, The Shins and Death Cab for Cutie.

Pilkington
Ed Everett: vocals, guitar
Becca Todd: guitar, vocals
Adam Smith: keys
Nicklas Hughes: drums, vocals

Soft rocking, hard rolling tunes for cool kids and even cooler adults too afraid to move on. Live, Pilkington is blood in the water and fire in the streets. South Philly. RIYL: Wilco, Spoon, Real Estate, etc.
